There have been plenty of times when I’ve been bored whilst travelling. Whether you’re travelling for an hour or even a full day, it’s easy to end up with nothing to do but look out the window and admire the passing view. So what can you do to stop yourself getting bored when travelling? Read on to find out.
Make New Friends
Strangers are friends you just haven’t met yet. Get chatting to the person sitting next to you and you never know, you might end up finding a few things you have in common. People are more likely to respond and make an effort if they’re there for a while: if you’re on a short bus ride, for example, people won’t really bother making conversations, whereas if you’re on a transatlantic flight, people will be more likely to talk because they have more time on their hands.
Bring Your Favourite Books with You
Bring something to read with you, whether it’s a novel or a magazine or two. If you have an e-book reader, load it up with as many books as you like so you’ll never run out of choice. If you don’t have one, consider getting one because they can hold more books than you can read in your lifetime. Personally, I prefer traditional print books, especially on long journeys, and it’s encouraging to see that print books are going to be around for a long time yet.
Listen To Music
Whatever music player you have, load it up with lots of songs so when you’re travelling, you can sit back, relax and enjoy listening to some of your favourite songs and albums. Mix it up by creating playlists and listen to songs, albums and artists you’ve never listened to before.
